With the disappearance of the Q45, the M became the Japanese luxury brand’s flagship. In any other manufacturer’s line-up, killing off the top-seeded car would have been suicide. The Q never caught on like the Lexus LS even though they appeared on the market at about the same time.
As competition got fiercer, the Q lost all semblance as a competitor not because of a lack of competence or content but mostly because of serious absence from the buying public.

The Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept will debut at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Honda’s luxury division released a sketch of the Advanced Sports Car Concept Wednesday and said the concept will provide a glimpse of the next generation Acura exotic sports car.

Audi adds 2007 RS 4 as new performance compact sedan .

German luxury carmaker Audi AG is cranking up its racy, sporty side in a surprising way — by giving its smallest sedan a 420-horsepower V-8 and a manual transmission.

The new-for-2007 RS 4 is faster than any other car in Audi’s introductory A4 line of sedans and wagons, including the previous top sporty model, the Audi S4.

Jimmie Johnson is making all the rounds this week to TV shows and all that stuff leading up to the Big Show on Friday in NYC. All this just to prove that NASCAR is an important and viable “sport” even though ratings are down, ticket sales are down and the TV coverage is moving BACK to cable where many of its fans will not be able to watch. Plus, it gets Brian France his chance to hobnob in NYC, get his share of glory and make him feel more important as the overseer of all things NASCAR.
